Granville advance to quarters of St James FA KO
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former champions Granville FC advanced to the quarter-finals of the St James Football Association Captain’s Bakery and Grill Knockout competition after beating Marl Road FC 3-0 at the Granville Community Centre on Tuesday.
Cion Peterkin scored a double to lead Granville FC to their first win of the season to join two other qualifiers, Melbourne FC and Tomorrow’s People SC, in the last eight.
The other game scheduled on Tuesday between Fire House and Heights FC was called off due to a waterlogged field and has been rescheduled for tomorrow at Albion.
On Tuesday, Peterkin scored in the 25th and 70th minutes after Patrick James had given them the lead in the 10th minute.
Due to postponements, three games will be played today — Faulkland FC will take on Montego Bay Boys’ Club at Jarrett Park, Montego Bay United Under-21 will face Wadadah FC at UDC, while Violet Kickers and Reggae Youths will meet at Albion.
The Faulkland game will start at 5:00 pm, while the other two will kick off at 3:00 pm.
