August Town, Rockfort amongst winners in KSAFA Super League
Low-scoring encounters greeted the new and lucrative Charley’s JB Rum/KSAFA 2015 Super & Major Leagues season, which got underway at the weekend.
In Super League action on Saturday, August Town FC, Barbican FC, Maverley/Hughenden FC, Rockfort FC, and Shortwood FC made winning starts.
August Town clipped Bull Bay FC 1-0, while Maverley/Hughenden were likewise winners after Omari Edwards’ strike in minute 63 sunk Santos FC 0-1 at Bell/Chung Oval. On the other hand, Rockfort used home advantage to carve a narrow 1-0 win against Real Mona with a goal from Akeem Higgins.
At Browns Town, Barbican beat Browns Town 2-0 with a double from Mario McDonald, while Rae Town FC and Maxfield Park played to a 0-0 stalemate.
Shortwood United FC outscored Seaview Gardens FC 3-2 away at Seaview Gardens, with a double strike from Keith Osbourne and the other from Sheldon Nelson.
In the Major League, Stony Hill and Pembroke Hall drew 1-1, while New Kingston got clobbered by Olympic Gardens 0-4 at Cling Cling Oval with goals from Kimani Morgan Romeo Nelson, Jevaun Carty and Garfield Williams. In Zone A, Molynes clipped Constant Spring 2-1, while Duhaney Park went down 0-1 to Cooreville Gardens at Duhaney Park from a Kevon Montgomery goal. Central Kingston edged Police National 1-0 with a goal from Adnois Maxwell, while Whitfield Town FC and the JDF had similar 1-0 wins against Greenwich Town FC and Mountain View, respectively.
