Dinthill raring to go, says Patrick
EXCEPT for a few minor injuries, everybody is fit and raring to go, reports Coach Anthony Patrick as Dinthill Technical prepare to take on STETHS in the ISSA/Flow daCosta Cup final this evening.
Game time is 4:30 at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
And Patrick said the entire community of Linstead, Catherine is “very hungry” for another daCosta Cup success.
“It is 34 years since we have been to the final and win it, so it is very important for the Dinthill fraternity, and the parish on a whole, that we have another chance now,” said Patrick.
This will be the second meeting between the sides this season, with STETHS eliminating Dinthill from the Ben Francis Cup about two weeks ago, 7-6 on penalties, following a 2-2 result in normal and extra-time.
While Patrick admits that they made crucial mistakes in that game, twice, giving up the lead, he said they have already moved past that defeat.
“We stepped up our preparation after that game and have gotten good results since that. Now we are facing them again in the final of the daCosta Cup, which is the big picture for us, so we are looking forward to it,” said Patrick.
And the former two-time Manning Cup winner with Bridgeport High, said most, if not all, things are well in their camp.
“There are some minor injuries, but we are very confident going into the game,” he said. “We are pleased with the sessions we had in the last few days and I would say they (the players) are raring to go.”
