Hylton wants to put Port Antonio High on the map
PORT Antonio High are in it to win it, says Coach Marlon Hylton after his side earned a valuable away point in their opening ISSA/Flow daCosta Cup quarter-final game last Tuesday.
The 0-0 draw with Lennon High at Juici Park in Clarendon means Port Antonio are in a four-way tie, on a point apiece, in Group Q.
Starting today they will close out their quarter-final schedule with home games against Petersfield High and Seaforth High, which Hylton hopes will boost their chances of clinching a semi-final spot.
“When we started out in the summer, we had a dream, and now it’s putting that dream to reality,” he reasoned.
“We laid out a plan saying that once we reach the quarter-finals we can take it from there. Here we are in the quarter-finals, so it’s for us to be ambitious now and make that bold step and put Port Antonio High School on the map.”
And even though they suffered a 1-3 defeat to Wolmer’s Boys’ in the first round of Flow Super Cup, Hylton said his players remain confident heading into latter stages of the schoolboy football season.
“The guys are in a good mood, and they are confident,” said Hylton. “They got some exposure from the Super Cup, which was very good for us, so we want to use that experience to guide us as we move forward.”
He continued: “We came out with a positive result from our first game, so now we have two home games and we are really looking forward to them, because we want to see if we can progress to the semi-finals.”
