TUI Group to announce new Ja investment?
The TUI Group, one of the world’s largest tourism companies, will this afternoon announce a huge investment that will add more than 2,000 new rooms to Jamaica’s hotel sector, according to highly placed industry sources.
A media advisory from the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) yesterday said that the announcement will be made by “a reputable resort chain” inside the JTB board room at The Tourism Centre in New Kingston.
The TUI Group operates approximately 300 hotels with 210,000 beds in 24 countries. Its hotel portfolio includes such well-known brands as Riu and the premium-market Robinson Clubs.
The group also includes six airlines — TUIfly, Thomson, TUIfly Nordic, Jetairfly, Corsair, and ArkeFly — which serve more than 180 destinations worldwide.
