#ArticulateMinority prison protest in tweets
Jamaican social media, derisively dubbed the #ArticulateMinority by Cabinet member and long-time MP Bobby Pickersgill, took to the outside of Jamaica’s Parliament to protest over a prospective UK-Jamaica prison deal proposed by David Cameron and the Jamaican Government.
Users of the social media, took ‘from the tweets’ to the streets’ to voice their displeasure over any such deal. The hashtag #ArticulateMinority was used to follow along for those who couldn’t make it the protest. These are some of the best tweets on the matter. This in the hopes of ‘lighting a spark’ to get more people involved in holding their Government to book.
