Fitness and health for TEENs
Let’s disprove a myth, shall we? The only people that can afford to be fit and take care of their health are wealthy? So not true.
Health and fitness are super important and so, naturally, teenAGE has your back, even if you’re on a pretty tight budget. Here are some tips:
1. Buy healthy: stock up on fruits and veggies at the supermarket or farmers’ market. Or start a vegetable or spice garden as a cheaper alternative.
2. Snack healthier: replace candy and other sweet treats with fruits; replace sugary beverages and sodas with natural juices and water; and instead of reaching for a bag of chips or cheese trix (guilty!) try some nuts or trail mix instead.
3. Working out: if you haven’t got the money or time for the gym just switch the TV on and follow whatever’s on Fit TV for a few or check out one of the hundreds of work out videos on YouTube. YouTube is your friend in so many ways. Maybe you can even take a walk or jog in your backyard or around your neighbourhood.
4. Follow through: don’t just plan to exercise or eat healthy – follow through! Try a lifestyle change with friends or family members that’ll keep you in check. Get health apps to track your exercise progress and calorie intake.
