Sweet music for Claremont All-Age School
The Sandals Foundation recently donated musical instruments to the Claremont All-Age School in Hanover. The items included seven music stands and additional instruments for the school’s Recorder/Music Club, which was established to expose children to the art of music and develop their understanding of the subject. Here, Kendra Johnson (left), Sandals regional public relations manager, makes the presentation to music coordinator and teacher Marcel Davis and students of the school. The Sandals Foundation believes that music facilitates the growth, development and mental capacity of children, increasing their ability to learn in all subject areas. Over the years the Foundation has also invested in the development of music facilities and programmes in Jamaica, working with groups such as the Flanker Marching Band and the Montego Bay Boys’ and Girls’ Club; and in Antigua, where it constructed a music room.
