Edwards brace spurs Tacky
RICHMOND, St Mary — Algawayne Edwards scored twice for Tacky High as they beat St Mary Technical 2-1 in their rescheduled ISSA/Flow daCosta Cup Zone J game played at the Richmond Farm Sports Complex yesterday.
The win was the second for Tacky who were returning to the competition following a one-year hiatus, their best start ever, and took them to joint leadership with Islington High, both on six points.
Edwards gave Tacky the lead in the 5th minute, then doubled it in the 52nd, while Michael Edwards pulled one back for St Mary Technical when he converted a penalty kick in time added at the end of the game.
Tacky High join 10 other schools that have won their first two games, including Islington High, defending champions Clarendon College, Frome Technical, Mile Gully, Manchester High, Marcus Garvey, Dinthill Technical, Port Antonio High, Happy Grove, and Vere Technical.
