Prizes and surprises as schoolboy football season kicks off
THE newly rebranded telecommunications company FLOW, lead sponsor of the 2015 schoolboy football competition, has detailed exciting plans for tomorrow’s kick-off scheduled for the Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Montego Bay, St James.
Performances from popular artistes Popcaan and Chi ChingChing, prizes and surprises are planned to complement the riveting triple-header at Montego Bay’s premier football centre.
In the season opener on Saturday, defending Manning Cup Champions, Jamaica College, will meet Calabar High School at 2:30 pm, while the 2014/15 DaCosta Cup Champion Clarendon College will face Edwin Allen High at 4:20 pm.
The third match-up will be between Irwin High and Cornwall College at 6:45pm.
A specially produced half-time show, including popular artistes, FLOW brand ambassadors and cash giveaways will also be in store for patrons.
Commenting on fan expectations for the 2015/16 game season, Stephen Miller, sponsorship manager, said: “The entertainment elements that will be injected into the opening games are just the beginning of what persons can expect this schoolboy football season with FLOW.”
“Our new brand is fresh and dynamic and we will be bringing this enhanced energy to the execution of the third year of our sponsorship,” he said.
“We will also be driving even more innovation into the programme by revolutionising the way that fans are able to access information on their favorite teams and keep updated with match schedules and scores,” Miller added.
The company will also be using the opening event to present its new brand to the city of Montego Bay.
On September 3, the annual secondary school football competition was officially renamed the FLOW School Boy Football Competition. Miller also indicated that plans are underway for the staging of the second FLOW/ISSA Super Cup competition which promises even more excitement for fans this season.
