Fall’s Here
Hey trendy teens, it has been forever but Rash-on Fashion is back. I’m hoping you all had an awesome and fashion forward first week of school. We sadly had to say goodbye to summer and all its trends.
But not to fear, although we don’t see leaves changing and birds going south, fall is here.
Us fashionistas in tropical Jamaica need to undeniably transition into fall fashion to keep up with the changing climes. Below are a few tips to help move from sultry summer to windy fall. This is your weekly dose of Rash-on Fashion.
1. The nights are getting colder and so are the evenings, ensure that your bag has a resident cardigan or blazer. This jacket needs to be durable enough to endure wear and tear. But let’s not forget the fashionista inside, choose a blazer with a unique cut and one of the rich hues of fall.
2. Trade in your shorts and mini skirts for cotton maxi skirts and trendy palazzo pants. These are still fashionable but less revealing, quite fit for windier times. Also replace your tanks and crop tops with soft tees and structured blouses.
3. While it’s fun to wear strappy sandals, with fall fashion it is more structured and a bit less flirty. If we were further up north, boots of all shapes and sizes would be recommended. But since we look quite ridiculous in leather boots, settle for flats and cute sneakers. All Star Converses are a big hit at the moment and are a great investment. Show off your tomboy side and rock some sneaks.
4. Move away from the pasty pastels of spring and summer. Lilac and mauve were so two seasons ago. The same goes for lace and floral prints. Fall is the season of stripes and geometric prints, it is also the season for rich dark hues such as olive green, brick red, forest green and taupe.
So while fall isn’t as fun or as flirty as spring and summer, it definitely has its charms. It is the time to show maturity in fashion and a level of versatility in your style.
