First Day of School
We’re back with another in our series of articles to help you wade through that first day of back-to-school.
Unfortunately many of us have been there: lost or experiencing some schedule mix-up.1. Have copies of your schedule on hand for reference.2. Arrive at school with time to spare before your classes are scheduled to begin. This gives you time to breathe, find your classroom and settle in.3. Wear a watch. And check it periodically. (PS: make sure the watch works – there’s nothing worse than relying on a watch to keep time then realising it doesn’t work).4. Find people that share the same class or classes with you and check in with them. This will help you not look friendless and you’ll have someone to walk in with. They can also keep you accountable as it relates to time.5. Explore your school or building. But not during short breaks between classes. Exploring will ensure that you will become familiar with your space and will ultimately make you feel more comfortable.
But here’s how to avoid the embarrassment, confusion and missed notes:
