#BEIJING2015: Jamaica claim 12 medals in nine days
KINGSTON, Jamaica – After nine days of intense competitions at the 15th IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, Jamaica have claimed 12 medals to finish second on the medal table.
Among the 12 medals is a record seven gold medals, matching the number of gold medals amassed by Kenya, who end the championships at the top of the table.
The island nation, with 132 points, end the World Championships third overall. The United States amassed 214 points for first place overall, while the Kenyans earned 173 points for second place.
Jamaica will also be walking away from this year’s championship with two silver medals and three bronze medals.
Along with their seven gold medals, Kenya won six silver medals and three bronze medals, bringing their total to 16 medals.
America finished the championships with 18 medals: six gold medals, six silver medals and six bronze medals
