#BEIJING2015: Fedrick Dacres finishes 7th in discus throw
KINGSTON, Jamaica – National champion Fedrick Dacres today finished seventh in the discus throw after landing a distance of 64.22m at the 15th IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.
After just one throw of 65.77m to top the list of competitors going into the final, Dacres failed to recreate his semi-final mark in the event.
Dacres landed the 64.22m distance on his first attempt but was unable to better that number in subsequent attempts.
The discus throw was won by Piotr Malachowski of Poland, who landed 67.40m. Belgium’s Philip Milanov finished second with a throw of 66.90 and Poland’s Robert Urbanek threw a distance of 65.18 to walk away with the bronze medal.
