#BEIJING2015: Jamaica’s 4x100m men advance to final
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s 4x100m men’s relay team won their heat to book their spot in the final, set for Saturday at 8:10 am (Jamaica local time), at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.
The team of Nesta Carter, Asafa Powell, Rasheed Dwyer and Nickel Ashmeade – who was a last-minute replacement after Tyquendo Tracey was injured during warm-up – displayed precision and speed over the one-lap race.
After a superbly smooth run by the Jamaicans, they clocked 37.41 seconds to outstrip the time run by the Americans in the first heat.
The Americans won their heat in a time of 37.91 seconds.
France finished second to Jamaica in a time of 37.88 with China trailing them across the line in a time of 37.92 seconds.
The other teams to line up in the final are: Antigua and Barbuda (38.01s), Canada (38.03s), Great Britain and Northern Ireland (38.20s),
and Germany (38.57s).
