#BEIJING2015: Jamaica’s three advance to Women’s 200m finals
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The three Jamaican women contesting the 200 metres IAAF World Championships title in Beijing, China have booked their spot in Friday’s final.
This after Elaine Thompson dominated heat one in an impressive 22.13 seconds run ahead of America’s Candyce McGrone who qualified in 22.26s.
In the second heat, Sherone Simpson clinched second in 22.53s behind Netherland’s Dafne Schippers who ran 22.09s.
Qualifying as one of the fastest losers was Olympic gold medallist Veronica Campbell-Brown who was third in heat three in a time of 22.47s. Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith made an impressive 22.12s run to take the heat, while American Jeneba Tarmoh was second in 22.38s.
The other fastest loser was Bulgaria’s Ivet Lalova-Collio who finished heat one in 22.32s.
