#BEIJING2015: Four Jamaicans advance to Women’s 400m final
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica has booked four of eight spots in the Women’s 400m final slated for Thursday at 7:40 am (Jamaica local time) at the IAAF World Championships under way in Beijing, China.@ObserverLive
This after Christine Day, Commonwealth Champion Stephenie Ann McPherson and Shericka Jackson finished second in their heats to automatically book their spots, while Novlene Williams-Mills made the cut as one of the fastest losers.
Day clocked 50.82 seconds in the heat won by Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas, who finished in 50.12 seconds. While McPherson ran 50.32 seconds behind defending champion Christine Ohuruogu of Britain, who clocked 50.16.
And Jackson finished ahead of Williams-Mills, clocking 50.03 seconds to Williams-Mills’ 50.47 seconds. Their heat was won by American Allyson Felix, who clocked 49.89s to earn her spot as the quickest qualifier.
