#BEIJING2015: Fraser-Pryce captures world 100m treble
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Double Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce captured an unprecedented world 100 metres treble at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing a short while ago.
The powerhouse sprinter clocked a time of 10.76 seconds, retaining her world title and beating Dutch champion Dafne Shippers into second (10.81s) and the formidable American Tori Bowie into third (10.86s).
Jamaica’s other finalists, 2007 women’s 100m champion Veronica Campbell Brown (10.91s) and Natasha Morrison (11.02s) placed fourth and seventh respectively.
Fraser-Pryce clocked the fastest time of 10.82 seconds in the semi-finals in Beijing with Shippers second quickest in a Dutch record 10.83 seconds and Bowie third in 10.87 seconds.
