#BEIJING2015: Jamaica compete in 3 events tonight
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Aisha Praught, who switched allegiance from the United States of America (USA) to Jamaica will make her debut in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase at 8:45 pm (Jamaica time) today.
Praught will line-up in heat one of three heats at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.
Four Jamaicans will also line up in the heats of the women’s 400 metres, which gets under way at 9:45 pm.
The four quarter-milers: Christine Day, Stephenie Ann McPherson, Shericka Jackson, and Novlene Williams-Mills, will try to secure their spaces in the semi-finals of the event.
Day will run out of lane four in heat three, while McPherson will run in heat four, out of lane five. Williams-Mills will run out of lane three in heat six, and Jackson will line up in lane five of heat five.
Jamaica’s Damar Forbes will compete in Group A of the men’s Long Jump.
