#BEIJING2015: Bolt, Fraser-Pryce bow into action today
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Defending champions Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce bow into action today at the 15th IAAF World Athletics Championships now under way in Beijing, China.@ObserverLive
Bolt will take up his position in lane six of Heat seven in the men’s 100 metres while Fraser-Pryce is to run out of lane nine in Heat four of the women’s 100 metres.
Several other Jamaicans will also take the track at the Bird’s Nest today. In the men’s 100 metres, Asafa Powell will run out of lane two in Heat one while Nickel Ashmeade, also running out of lane two, will take up his position in Heat two at the championships.
On the women’s side, Veronica Campbell Brown will run out of lane six in Heat one of the 100 metres, while Natasha Morrison will run out of lane two in Heat two and Sherone Simpson will run out of lane five in Heat six at the championships.
While Salcia Slack continues to push in the women’s Heptathlon with additional events, Jamaicans will also represent in the heats of the men’s 400 metres hurdles, the women’s Triple Jump, the women’s 400 metres hurdles heats, and the heats of the men’s 400 metres.
