#BEIJING2015: Annsert Whyte, Leford Green through to 400mH semi-finals
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Annsert Whyte is the only Jamaican to have automatically qualified for the 400 metres Hurdles semi-finals after five heats at the IAAF World Championship now under way in Beijing, China.
Leford Green is the other Jamaican to qualify in the event. He got through to the semi-finals based on his fifth-placed time of 49.33 seconds.
However, teammate Roxroy Cato failed to qualify after he clocked 49.47 seconds to finish sixth in heat one.
Whyte, 28, claimed his semi-final spot in a time of 49.10 seconds.
In the event, Whyte has a personal best of 48.58s , which he clocked in Kingston, Jamaica, in June, 2015.
