How To…
Hey guys, ‘How to’ is back with some tips and ways of reusing your old clothes. Of course donating your clothes to a worthy cause is always a great idea, however, the rule of thumb is that if you wouldn’t like to receive the piece of clothing as a gift, then don’t give it. But don’t worry, all your stained, torn or otherwise unsightly clothing won’t be doomed to the life of old cleaning rags. Here are some things you can do:1 Make bags– You could cut up old jeans and sew the ends together. When you are finished you would have a pair of shorts and a bag. In addition to that , you could cut the sleeves off old shirts and sew the bottom and you will also have a cute bag. You could use them to complement your look, or if you’re like me you use them to attractively store things.2 Make a new shirt– This is probably the easiest and cheapest way to get a new shirt. If you have T-shirts in good condition simply cut off the sleeves (you could cut it deeper in the sides if you wish), and there you go. Pair it with a cute bandeau for a new look. You could also cut off the bottom of the shirt and the sleeves and you instantly have a crop top.3 Get a couple of new headbands– You could check out the How to… Make Headbands article published previously on the teenAGE Observer website to help you with this. If you already made it and need another style, you already have all you need. Just cut horizontally a long piece of a stretchy material like a T-shirt. Then bring both sides together and knot it at the front. If you only have small pieces you can use the method to make a couple hair ties.4 Make cushions– You could use an old T-shirt or an old sweater for this. Cut off the sleeves and the collar area so you have a rectangular shape, sew the bottom and two more sides completely closed leaving only a little space to add sponge. Afterwards, sew the small openings. It’s as simple as that!
I hope these ideas helped you to find ways to reuse old clothes, now you’ll never be bored in the summer.
