Reggae Girlz thrash St Lucia 14-0 in World Cup qualifiers
PARAMARIBO, Suriname — Jamaica’s Under-17 Reggae Girlz clobbered St Lucia 14-0 to secure a second victory in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) World Cup qualifiers here at the Dr IR Franklin Essed Stadium on Friday.
A four-timer from the diminutive Jody Brown in the 5th, 34th, 38th, and 54th minutes led the route for the young Girlz. Tarania Clarke (16th, 27th and 29th) and Shanhaine Nelson (19th, 21st and 90+3), both notched a hat-trick, while Sherice Clarke (8th and 34th), Tateyana Pitter (63rd) Monique Perrier (65th) got the others.
The win placed the Girlz back at the top of Group Four on six points, ahead of host Suriname who were locked at 0-0 with Barbados at press time in the other group fixture.
