Man to face court for extortion
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A man was arrested and charged by detectives attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) for extortion on Wednesday.
In custody is Akeem Blackwood.
Reports are that the accused allegedly made demands for money and other favours from the complainant and threatened to spread information on the nature of their relationship.
A report was made to C-TOC and an investigation was launched.
The accused was subsequently arrested.
He is scheduled to appear in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, July 22.
