UPDATE: Slain policewoman’s gun recovered
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Major Investigation Task force confirmed to OBSERVER ONLINE that a firearm believed to be that of slain constable Crystal Thomas was retrieved during an operation today.
Thomas was on Tuesday night shot dead by thugs who robbed a coaster bus on which she was a passenger.
She had just concluded duty at the Denham Town Police Station and boarded the bus on Spanish Town Road for home. However, after being identified as a police officer, Thomas was shot in the head at point blank range. Her service pistol was also taken from her.
Though investigators are tight-lipped about the circumstances under which the gun was retrieved, the retrieval of the gun is the latest detail released as they continue their investigations.
OBSERVER ONLINE reported earlier that two suspects in Thomas’ murder are already in police custody. They are to be questioned.
