Improve sexual prowess with Pilates
NO man wants to get a bad ‘grade’ for his sexual performance.
Some might argue that they are naturally gifted at providing pleasure, but just in case you are looking for a way to improve your skills inside the bedroom, or any other location for that matter, maybe Pilates can help.
Licensed Pilates practitioner and Physiotherapist Summer Lopez of Body Forte Limited has said that Pilates is good for women and men.
“In general, men tend to be a little less flexible than women,” she told the Jamaica Observer ahead of her Pilates session at Emancipation Park, last Tuesday, as part of the Medical Association of Jamaica’s Golden Jubilee Week of activities.
“We work on a Pilates apparatus at our studio as well as on the mat, and men like that because it provides them with resistance work as well, so it is similar to weight training,” Lopez explained.
She said that men who do Pilates can see the benefits translate into their everyday life, as they experience fewer back pain, less recurrence of injuries, and even prevention of further injuries.
“Pilates is a system of exercises that has many different principles: it focuses on balance, coordination, flexibility, breathing,” Lopez said. “I think the best purpose of Pilates is how it enhances your body’s awareness.”
The Pilates practitioner said there are numerous health benefits to be had from practising Pilates, and that although it is famous for working the core of the body, any good Pilates teacher can tailor a programme to work all areas of the body.
“Pilates is synonymous with working your powerhouse, working your core. A lot of people consider core just your abdominals, which is absolutely not the case. Your core is your shoulder girdle, your chest, your shoulder blades, your pelvic girdle, your glute muscles, your hips, and your abdominals – front and back – so that whole middle area,” Lopez explained.
She said people with a well-developed core will have the edge in whatever activities they do because they will have better balance, better control, and they are going to have much better arms and legs.
So, how exactly can a stronger core make you a stallion in the bedroom?
Licensed Pilates practitioner Wendy Martin-Haddad, also from Body Forte Limited, said it can help to facilitate a more heightened sexual experience for men.
“As a woman, I know that men enjoy when women are having a great experience, and it also ties hand in hand with each other – women having a great experience sexually and the man is having a heightened sexual experience,” Martin-Haddad opined.
She said Pilates pull the pelvic flooring together, causing it to tighten.
“So, I think that they are way more engaged and they are tighter, like when you hear about women doing Kegel exercises after pregnancy to tighten everything down there,” she said. “So that for men, there is pleasure because they have a tighter grip, so to speak.”
She also told Your Health Your Wealth that when men do Pilates, it is reported that their orgasms are more intense and longer.
“It is about being able to control the muscles in the pelvic area, in the anal area; you know you are stronger in those areas because your muscles in your core are tighter, so that definitely helps improve everything,” Martin-Haddad insisted.
She said men who do Pilates are also able to get into various positions, which might have been considered complicated positions, because the system of exercises improves their flexibility.
“Certain positions for men, they may not be able to get into because their hamstrings are tight and they can’t hold the positions, but if they are more flexible, certainly they become sexier,” the Pilates practitioner said.
So, what are you waiting for? Maybe you should try Pilates.
