Another quadruple murder! Farmers shot dead in St Elizabeth
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – Four men, at least two of whom were 60 years and over, were shot dead while playing dominoes at a shop in Claremont, in remote north west St Elizabeth, on Wednesday night, police say.
Police identified the dead as Archibald Brown, 60, a farmer of Claremont, Ezra Wright, 73, farmer and shopkeeper of Claremont, 50-year-old Maurice Sanderson, also farmer. The fourth man was not positively identified early Thursday. Police say he too was elderly.
Reports are that the men were playing dominoes during a power cut about 8:30 pm at a small “board shop” operated by Wright when gunmen opened fire.
Police sources say the perpetrators are believed to be remnants of the Stone Crusher gang, operating in rugged terrain on the fringes of the Cockpit Country on the border of St Elizabeth and St James.
