RSPL grabs ESPN interest
THE nation’s top football tournament, the Red Stripe Premier League, can now be seen on the top sports network, ESPN.
Highlights of the semi-finals and final of the RSPL are being carried on espnfc.com.
“This is a great step in the right direction. The ESPN platform will bring more awareness of the league, the clubs and players,” said Red Stripe’s head of marketing and innovation, Blandine JnPaul-Reid.
“One of the differences we wanted to make in our sponsorship of the league was in the broadcast and production quality of the televised games, and it’s because of that investment why ESPN is interested in the content.”
Red Stripe is in its fourth year as title sponsor of the Premier League, and over the period has worked closely with the Premier League Clubs Association to develop the look and feel on match days.
“We have all worked hard together to ensure that the RSPL is of sufficient quality to be shown on ESPNFC. The clubs and the PLCA value Red Stripe’s sponsorship and investment in the sport,” said Andrew Price, general manager of the PLCA.
“We will continue to work assiduously in making the product worthy of world-class standards by improving the aesthetics of the various hosting venues.”
