Massy Gas helps MBU
TUCKER, St James — OVER the next 12 months Red Stripe Premiere League champions Montego Bay United will not have to worry about purchasing cooking gas for their WesPow Park headquarters in Tucker, St James.
This as Neville Lawson, key accounts manager for Massy Gas Products, through its Gas Pro brand, announced last week that his company has agreed to supply the club with cooking gas for one year.
The sponsorship is said to worth in excess of $500,000.
Speaking at a press conference held at WesPow Park last Thursday, Lawson said his company would also be making other financial contributions during the period, as it partners with MBU “to build the community, because without the community we could not exist as a corporate entity”.
“This is our way of giving back
to the Montego Bay community through Montego Bay United,” said Lawson, as he urged other corporate bodies to come on board, and for the citizens to continue to support the team.
He stressed that his company is proud of the achievements of the Montego Bay-based club.
“We are proud of what is being done and the achievements of the club so far… we believe in creating value and transforming lives, and for some time we have been looking at the club and we know that there are some challenges where the feeding programme is concerned, and so we are committing to providing cooking gas for the next year for the Montego Bay United,” he explained.
