Real Mona blank Mountain View 2-0 to take over lead
Real Mona defeated Mountain View 2-0 at Butter Cup Park on Sunday to take over leadership from UWI as the Jamaica National/KSAFA Super League continuted recently.
The goals were scored by Lenard Gooden and Kemar Campbell. Real Mona now moved to 25 points, while idle UWI stayed on 24.
In other games, Browns Town edged Allman/Woodford 1-0 on a goal from Shane Lewis in a double-header at Maxfield Park, where the hosts and Santos drew 0-0. Rae Town clipped Shortwood 2-1 at Shortwood with goals from James Durant (53rd), and Anthony Christie (54th), while Omar Walcott replied for Shortwood in minute 54.
Also, Rockfort travelled to the UWI Bowl to edge August Town 1-0 with a Delante Pottinger strike in the 59th minute.
In the Major League, Maverley/Hughenden blanked Stony Hill 3-0 at Stony Hill with goals from David Reid, Akeem Anglin and Phillip Peddie, while Constant Spring also had an easy afternoon blanking Pembroke Hall 2-0 at Pembroke Hall with goals from Jahmoya Woods and Ramon Brevitt.
In another contest, Police National squeezed past Greenwich Town 1-0 at Up Park Camp.
Meanwhile, in Zone A of the Alliance Finance/McKay Security Under-20 football competition last week Wednesday,
Cavalier clobbered Mountain View 6-2; Real Mona edged Swallowfield 3-2; while Barbican lashed August Town 4-0.
In Zone B, Tivoli Gardens humbled Rockfort 6-0; Rae Town went down 0-2 to Bull Bay; while Central Kingston yielded 0-1 to New Kingston.
In Thursday’s games, Arnett Gardens and Boys’ Town drew 1-1; Greenwich Town and Maxfield drew 1-1; Constant Spring lost 3-1 to Meadforest; Maverly/Hughenden defeated Stony Hill 2-1; while Duhaney Park crushed Cooreville Gardens 6-0.
