Suspected lottery scammers for court tomorrow
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica –The Black River Police have charged two persons under the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act with knowingly possessing identity information on Monday, March 2.
They are: 23-year-old chef Kimarley Rowe, and 26-year-old businessman Kayon Rodney, both of Fyffes Pen, Brompton in St Elizabeth.
Reports are that during an operation about 5:30 am Saturday, a dwelling occupied by both men was searched and 12 sheets of paper containing identity information of people living in the United States of America was found at the house. Paraphernalia related to lottery scamming activities, including cellular phones, were also seized. The men were subsequently arrested and charged.
They are scheduled to appear before the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 4.
