Say Peace!
Emprezz Golding (centre), producer of the popular youth discussion television programme, Talk up Yute, poses with students from Clan Carthy, Vauxhall, Convent of Mercy (Alpha) Academy and Camperdown high schools in Kingston, as well as Coleen Lewis (third from left), president of the Rotary Club of Trafalgar New Heights.
They were all attending a Peace Forum organised by the Rotary clubs of Trafalgar New Heights and Kingston East and Port Royal, and facilitated by Golding recently at Clan Carthy High School.
The forum, which taught the students conflict resolution skills, was the culmination of a Performing Arts Camp organised by Trafalgar New Heights for Clan Carthy High students and children from Maverley and Seaview Gardens in St Andrew during the mid-term break in February.
The camp was facilitated by the Quilt Performing Arts Company and held in Seaview Gardens. It targeted some 50 adolescents, who were taught how to use the performing arts to address conflicts. The events were organised in observance of Rotary’s promotion of peace during World Understanding Month.
