Kai’s ‘RIVER’ Runs Deep
THERE’s no stopping Kai Newman. The teen model phenom’s career is in overdrive as she continues to land advertising campaigns for major fashion brands (Tommy Hilfiger, check; Kenneth Cole, check), all while sashaying down designer runways at the just-concluded New York Fashion Week.
Newman’s latest big get is the just-launched Spring/Summer 2015 ad campaign for trendy British retailer River Island, styled by Edward Enninful and lensed by regular British Vogue contributing photog Emma Summerton in Palm Springs, California, last October.
Booked by her London agency Premier Models, the Saint International star was in front of the lens for the three-day, desert-located photo shoot with Calvin Klein face, Latvian female Ieva Laguna, Canadian Simon Nessman, who starred in Giorgio Armani’s Acqua di Gio cologne print ads, and fast-rising Aussie male model Nathaniel Visser.
Newman, who was kept busy in The Big Apple at the recently concluded Fashion Week, is currently listed on models.com’s ‘Hot List’ as one of the world’s hottest models based on her major designer show appearances and recent high-profile editorials in French ELLE, German Vogue and W Magazine.
Are plans in the making for the now-enrolled Quality Academics student to relocate to New York or Paris after graduation?
Says Deiwght Peters, SAINT’s head honcho, who discovered Newman walking on the road in downtown Kingston: “All options will be available for Kai to relocate after she graduates. At the time we will make a decision together. Apart from the major markets such as London, New York, Paris or Milan, Kai is also represented in Germany and Spain. These are great markets for direct bookings, as well.”
