Water lock-offs for sections of Kingston, St Andrew
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Several areas in Kingston and St Andrew will be without water for specific periods from Thursday to Saturday, while the National Water Commission (NWC) takes the Constant Spring Treatment Plant, Mona Treatment Plant, Ferry Hill Tanks, and Moylnes Road Booster Plant out of operation.
A release from the NWC Thursday said this is to facilitate the close of the 26 Water Supply Rehabilitation Project, which will allow for interconnection works.
The “downtimes” will be Thursday, from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am Friday and from 8:00 pm Friday to 4:00am Saturday.
The areas to be affected include: Washington Boulevard and all roads leading off; Molynes Road and all roads leading off; Spanish Town Road and all roads leading off; Marcus Garvey Drive and all roads leading off; sections of downtown Kingston; Constant Spring Road and all roads leading off; Norbrook; Cherry Gardens; Havendale; Half-Way-Tree; Manor Park; Grants Pen; Shortwood Road and all roads leading off; Graham Heights; Aylsham; Allerdyce; Acadia; Red Hills Road and all roads leading off; White Hall Gardens; Eastwood Park Gardens; Stillwell Road and surrounding areas.
Mona, Cross Roads, Mountain View, Old Hope Road, Devon Square, Waterloo Road, Trafalgar Road and all roads leading off, Lady Musgrave Road and roads leading off, Cassia Park, Eastwood Park, Half-Way-Tree Road, Upper Maxfield Avenue, Ziadie Gardens, Dunrobin Avenue, New Kingston, Liguanea, Mona Road, Ravina, Hagley Park Road and all roads leading off, Harbour View, Shooters Hill and Bull Bay will also be affected.
The National Water Commission in the meantime said it apologises for any inconvenience these necessary improvement works may cause and urges customers in the affected areas to store water for use during the period of disruption.
