NHF adds more drugs for hypertension, BPH
NATIONAL Health Fund (NHF) cardholders are to benefit from the addition of new drugs for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and hypertension.
New, for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, is Duodart capsules with the active ingredients Dutasteride and Tamsulosin, with a NHF subsidy of $130.80 per 0.5mg tablet.
In addition, Cozaar XQ tablets with the combination of the active ingredients Losartan and Amlodipine for the treatment of hypertension, has been added.
The NHF offers a subsidy of $33.61 for a 50 mg tablet and $58.37 for a 100 mg tablet.
These changes took effect on January 28, 2015.
A release from the NHF said a complete drug list and subsidies paid by the NHF are available from NHF participating pharmacies, the NHF website or by calling NHF.
