‘Boys’ Club’ put winning streak on the line
FROME, Westmoreland — Montego Bay Boys’ Club’s four-game win streak will be put to the test today when they travel to the Frome Sports Grounds to face second-placed Savannah SC in the Jamaica Football Federation Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League.
With a rest in the Red Stripe Premier League, a full slate of six games will be played today and will see Granville FC going after yet another win at the expense of an improving Beaches Negril at the Granville Community Centre.
Savannah SC are coming off a win over Tomorrow’s People, snapping a two-game winless streak and will be tough to beat at home.
Savannah are on 19 points, two shy of leaders Sandals Whitehouse. Savannah have never lost to Boys’ Club — drawing away from home last year before winning 3-1 and will be planning to continue their winning ways today.
Granville are also on a hot run of their own and will meet a Beaches Negril team coming off back-to-back wins that took them off the bottom of the tables.
Leaders Sandals WhiteHouse should move closer to a place in the mid-season final when they play a badly faltering Tomorrow’s People at Irwin High.
In other games, Wadadah FC will host Holland United at the UDC field, Salt Marsh United take on last-placed Violet Kickers, while Jericho Rangers host Village United at Watson Taylor Park.
