SLEEP take splace when the body and mind are inactive and relaxed. Oftentimes, teens do not get enough sleep due to getting assignments done and studying.
When enough sleep is not received it affects your ability to function in class because your basically tired and weary.
If you have taken keen observation of your pattern, when you do not get enough sleep you may realise that you feel moody, look different, and/or perform poorly at school.
Here are some facts about sleep that will prove that sleep is necessary for teens:
* Sleep is a food supplement for the brain. It is only through sleep that important body functions and brain activity occur.
* Not getting enough sleep limits your ability to learn, listen, concentrate, and even to solve simple problems. You may even forget information easily.
* Not getting enough sleep may lead to sleeping disorders. These include insomnia, sleep apnea and narcolepsy.
* Sleep affects your attitude and behaviour. A person who gets enough sleep will feel refreshed and cheerful in comparison to others, which affects the persons around them. Sleep is truly important for teens. According to sleepfoundation.org teens need about nine and a quarter hours of sleep each night to function well.
Although school work is important, sleep is just as important. To get your work done and get enough sleep, plan your time carefully. DO NOT DEPRIVE YOURSELF OF SLEEP!
Make it your priority to sleep well, and in return wake up to a new and revived you.
