PCL Cricket: Rain forces cancellation of second day in Barbados/Jamaica match
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second day of the Professional Cricket League Regional 4-Day Tournament match between Barbados Pride and Jamaica was called off this morning because of torrential rain in Barbados.
The teams arrived at the match venue ahead of the rescheduled start – but several parts of the ground were under water with no significant improvement in the weather over the last 24 hours, a report from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) said Saturday morning.
Umpires Gregory Brathwaite and Joel Wilson informed the two captains – Kraigg Brathwaite (Pride) and Tamar Lambert (Jamaica Franchise) – around 10:00 this morning that play for the day was abandoned, due to the wet conditions.
On Friday heavy rains flooded the field also forcing the cancellation of play.
Play is expected to start at 9:30am Sunday on tomorrow’s third day, weather and ground conditions permitting.
