Natural Health Awareness Day
FORMER Third World band member, now naturopathic holistic health practitioner and reiki master Carrot Jarrett and his wife, Alisia, managing partner, LivingWell NaturalCare, will today launch Natural Health Awareness Day at the LivingWell NaturalCare, Michi Super Centre in Kingston. The event is slated to run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This is the first Natural Health Day and it seeks to establish an annual day to be recognised as Natural Health Awareness Day in Jamaica, in order to raise awareness about Jamaica’s natural foods and herbs that can be used as medicine and to also expose the existing natural health healing services and therapies for the mind, body and spirit. These include reiki, yoga, meditation, reflexology, martial arts, tai chi, acupuncture, massages and iridology, among others.
The event will feature several booths for natural health healing products, services and therapies, where attendees will be able
to sample and watch demonstrations. There will also be an organic farmer’s market, as well as raw food preparation and healthy cooking demonstration.
There will also be a panel discussion featuring some of Jamaica’s prominent medical doctors and natural health practitioners, on various natural health healing topics such as: Eating and Living Well in Jamaica; The Medicinal Values in Jamaican Grown Foods/Herbs; The Dangers of Self-Medicating with Herbs; and Food Security.
