Young artiste managers host symposium
Third year Entertainment and Cultural Enterprise Management (ECEM) class, will be hosting ta public forum in aid of fulfilment for the course CLTR3505: “The Art of Artist Management”.
The event is geared toward interactive dialogue between the audience — students, staff and other members of the general public — and industry players in the cultural an creative industries.
The event which is a symposium under the theme “Bridging the Gap: The Art of Artist Management and the Creative Industries” takes the form of a panel discussion. They are expecting to have various industry players such artiste managers, artistes, individuals in culture and music and other sectors, as well as lecturers from our department (The Institute of Caribbean Studies/Reggae Studies Unit) and other distinguished people of the sort to be in attendance.
Guest speakers include: Ewan Simpson (attorney-at-law); Lilyclaire Bellamy from Jamaica Intellectual Property Office; Jeffrey ‘Agent Sasco’ Campbell; Raymond Small; and Michael ‘Stringbean’ Nicholson.
The event is slated for next week Wednesday November 19, 2014 at The Undercroft (Admissions Building) on the UWI Mona Campus starting at 6:00 pm.
