Manchester man shot and killed on the job
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A twenty-four-year-old man of Land Settlement, close to Williamsfield in Manchester was shot and killed at his workplace Thursday night.
The deceased man has been identified as Andre Johnson.
Police reports are that about 7:30 pm he was at a car wash and bar where he was employed in the same community when a lone gunman dressed in hood jacket approached him and fired several shots.
Johnson, otherwise called ‘Peppa’ who was reportedly wounded in the upper section of his body was pronounced dead at hospital.
It is alleged that following the shooting the gunman boarded public transportation and headed in the direction of Clarendon.
According to the Manchester police, a suspect who was later picked up by the Clarendon police is now being questioned in relation to Johnson’s murder.
No motive has yet been established for the killing.
