Pampered!
THE tables were turned recently when staff members of Beaches Negril were pampered and treated to massage teasers, facials, hand exfoliations, and more.
The treatments were some of the services offered during the Red Lane Spa’s health fair, held on October 28, at the resort. According to Red Lane Spa Manager Sandy Small, the event, which is being held for the first time, served multiple purposes.
“Our team members work really hard in order to give excellent service to the guests and sometimes this may result in them being stressed and having a lot of tension in their bodies,” she said. “As such, we decided to have this activity to help them become more relaxed, for them to learn some simple stress relief techniques and also be more aware of some of the rejuvenating services and products that the Red Lane Spa offers,” she added.
Bartender Renato Reid, who was one of those first in line for the teasers, was awestruck.
“It was amazing, I feel free. It was the first time I have had a massage and it was a great experience,” he shared. “I’m still reminiscing about it.”
Simone Black, Photo Shop manager, was also equally impressed and grateful for the experience.
“It was excellent; I didn’t want it to be finished. The muscles in my shoulders are always a bit rigid, but now they feel relaxed,” she commented.
On the day, facials appeared to be the most popular of the services offered, especially among the men.
“I’ve always wondered why women do things like facials, but now I understand the benefits and will definitely treat myself to one more often,” insisted management trainee Courtney Gray, after experiencing some of the teasers.
In addition to the services offered by the resort’s spa, the health fair also featured Herbal Life representatives who educated team members about various wellness options. C & W J Credit Union and Sagicor were also on hand to share information on different health plans and available loans.
Plans are now afoot to have the event at least quarterly.
“For a number of team members, this was the first time they were receiving spa treatments and so they really appreciated the opportunity; it was a good experience for them, so we plan to do it again,” noted Small.
