Big finale for LIME Super Cup
AS defending Manning Cup and Olivier Shield champions Jamaica College and giant killers Holy Trinity prepare to face-off in Saturday’s finale of the inaugural LIME Super Cup, the telecommunications company has announced a grand showing for the nostalgic Sabina Park venue.
“The competition will come to a close this Super Saturday as we hand over the prize cheque of $1 million to the winning school, while for spectators, there will be many prizes and surprises and guest performers,” shared Carlo Redwood, LIME’s VP of marketing.
As title sponsor of the LIME Super Cup, the company will be hosting a Win like an MVP pre-game and half-time show, which will feature reggae sensation Romaine Virgo, LIME’s brand ambassadors Ity and Fancy Cat, and dancehall superstar Konshens.
The dynamic LIME dancers, who have been a staple throughout the season, will also be present, while the event will be hosted by LIME’s ambassador ‘Pretty Boy Floyd’.
Always full of surprises, Redwood further revealed that two lucky LIME customers will have a chance to win US $1,000 each during the final showdown, while there will also be phone and credit giveaways.
According to Redwood, the telecommunications firm believes the new competition has delivered on its promise of bringing innovation, energy and excitement to schoolboy football.
“We are very pleased with the outstanding support the competition received from ISSA, the participating schools, and spectators alike. The massive crowd support, fierce rivalry and exciting discussions were among our key objectives and those certainly have been achieved,” he said.
Urging patrons to arrive at the early due to limited capacity, Redwood reminds that tickets will be available free of cost at all LIME stores in Kingston, as well as through the Jamaica Observer. Gates open at 2:00 pm with the final scheduled to start at 4:00 pm.
The winners of Saturday’s LIME Super Cup final will be crowned the schoolboy football national knockout champions.
