Spotlight on HIC CEO
MASTERS in Public Health Degrees, an online resource which promotes MPH programmes at United States universities, has named Ernest Madu, the CEO of the Heart Institute of the Caribbean (HIC) among the 30 most influential people in public health across the world.
The feature puts the spotlight on the HIC as a global example of how technology is used to provide world-class health care services in low-resourced nations of the world.
Professor Madu, who is also a TED Talk alum, is named among fellow health experts, which include Andrew Bastawrous, ophthalmologist and co-inventor of the mobile app PEEK – Portable Eye Examination Kit; Blake Mycoskie, the founder of Shoes for a Better Tomorrow (TOMS Shoes); Margaret Chan, director general of World Health Organisation; and Michelle Obama, first lady of the United States of America.
