THE first-ever daCosta Cup/LIME Super Cup qualifiers will be known this afternoon as the Inter-zone round comes to a close with 16 games.

Six teams, led by daCosta Cup champions St Elizabeth Technical School (STETHS), will need only a point to book their place in the draw that will be held tomorrow morning to decide the match-ups for Saturday’s first round of matches against the eight Manning Cup schools.

STETHS, Clarendon College, Old Harbour High, Cedric Titus, St James High, and Garvey Maceo High won their first two games and will need only a draw in today’s games.

Manchester High and Cedric Titus have won their first two games as well, but must score wins over STETHS and Old Harbour High, respectively, if they are to advance as the winners.

Meanwhile three zones — 1, 2 and 6 — are still wide open with several schools still in the hunt.

Cornwall College lead Zone One and a win over Rusea’s High will see them through; Green Pond also need a win when they face Godfrey Stewart, while Dinthill Technical and Marcus Garvey are in a tight race in Zone 6.

However, another eight teams, the runners-up in each of the eight zones will also advance to the quarterfinals of the daCosta Cup.
