Call for Entries: Junior Exhibition for Art & Craft in Schools 2014
The Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) is inviting entries for the Junior Exhibition for Art & Crafts in Schools, 2014. All primary level schools (that is, preparatory, primary, junior high, all-age, etc) islandwide are invited to submit entries for the exhibition.
All eligible entrants must be students between the ages of 6 and 12 years old.
Schools are encouraged to submit entries in the Art and Craft categories.
A maximum of 20 art pieces can be entered for this category, which may include (but are not confined to) painting, drawing, posters, sculpture, collage, and photography.
In the craft section, a maximum of 20 entries are accepted for categories of craft pieces which may include (but are not limited to) jewellery making, leatherwork, weaving, and ceramics.
Entries must be accompanied with a letter from the school’s principal, declaring that the works submitted are the original and unaided work of the pupils. The front of each drawing or painting should indicate the name and age of the student as well as their school on the bottom right-hand corner.
Deadline for all entries is December 12, 2014.
Winners will receive trophies and prizes, to be announced at the Awards Ceremony in the IOJ’s Lecture Hall. The exhibition will be housed in the Exhibition Gallery at the Institute of Jamaica.
