TUCKER, St James — Defending champions Waterhouse FC failed to show up at WesPow Park for their Flow Champions Cup Knockout second-round game against Premier League champions Montego Bay United yesterday.

None of the officials at the game, the Match Commissioner Lorraine Scringer or the Montego Bay United officials had any explanation for the no-show of the defending champions.

Sandra Christie, chief operations officer (COO) of Montego Bay United told the Jamaica Observer she had not heard anything from Waterhouse, and efforts to contact officials of the Kingston club were fruitless.

The game was officially called off at 3:17 pm after the 15-minute grace period for the Waterhouse team to show up.

This is the second straight Montego Bay United game in five days that was not played after transportation issues, on Sunday, caused Sporting Central Academy not to show up for their Red Stripe Premier League game.

Meanwhile, Reno FC advanced to the quarter-finals after beating Rivoli United 2-1 in an all Premier League clash at Frome.

Reno FC, who had beaten Lewis Strikers last week, led 1-0 at half-time, thanks to a goal from defender Wilson in time added at the end of the first half.

Kemar Beckford pulled Rivoli level in the 54th minute before Dwayne Blake scored the winner for the home team in the 78th minute.

Both teams will meet again on Sunday at the same venue in a Red Stripe Premier League first round-game.
