‘Manley’ outclass ‘KT’ in rescheduled contest
Norman Manley High outplayed Kingston Technical High School (KTHS) 3-0 in their ISSA/LIME Manning Cup rescheduled contest at Maxfield Park yesterday to move into second place in Group G.
Norman Manley, most recently champions in 2002, are on nine points from five games and only trail title-holders Jamaica College. Hapless Kingston Technical remain at the foot of the group standings with only four points from their six outings.
Left winger Jevaun Blackwood gave Norman Manley the lead as early as the fourth minute to lay the foundation for what turned out to be a comprehensive victory. Namesake Jevaun Howell increased the advantage to 2-0 three minutes from the half-time break.
For the second half, KTHS improved their play to limit Norman Manley to a single goal as only a terrific free kick from Shamar Reid from the edge of the centre circle in minute 54 could penetrate a much better defensive set up by the visitors.
