Supermarket selfie CHALLENGE
TREVOR Dixon now leads the batch of participants vying for the title of top challenger in the Jamaica Observer/Gymkhana Absolute Fitness Challenge. Now on 118 points, Dixon’s closest rivals are Francine White and Loraine Moses, who are both tied on 115 points.
How did Dixon manage to pull ahead?
Last Monday, the competitors were given a list of items to locate at the John R Wong Supermarket in New Kingston. The challengers had to run from Gymkhana at the Wyndham, also in New Kingston, to the supermarket, find the listed items, take selfies with them, then make their way back to Gymkhana. Three points were awarded for each item found, for which the selfies were proof, and depending on the order in which the challengers returned, they were given points accordingly. Some of the items that made the list included: a packet of Milo, Grace mackerel, coco butter hand and body lotion, and peanuts in the shell.
The challengers got a few stares from shoppers while making their way through the supermarket but they remained focused, a few using strategy instead of speed to amass maximum points.
Following the latest challenge, the other points standing are: Sandrine Waite – 111; Eileen Wapp – 110; Jodi Jackson – 108; Maureen Milbourn – 98; and this reporter is on 80 points.
