Los Perfectos battle Harbour View in Women’s Premier League
LOS Perfectos FC will be aiming to extend their unbeaten record in Zone B when they take on Harbour View FC in the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF)/Sherwin Williams Women’s Premier League at the Harbour View Stadium today.
All games begin at 3:30 pm.
The Manchester-based club has been dominant since the start of the competition and is still at the head of the zone on 12 points, having scored 25 goals with only two against. Their latest victims were Real Morant Strikers whom they mauled 7-0 on Thursday, and they will be hoping to continue in that vein.
However, Harbour View FC (four points), having failed to secure a win in their last three fixtures, will be seeking redemption. The Damion Grant-coached team is now toiling in fifth place as a result of their recent 3-0 loss to GC Foster College.
Second-placed GC Foster College (12 points) should continue to keep the leaders honest when they battle cellar dwellers Real Morant Strikers (one point), while third-placed St James Women’s Academy (seven points) will tackle fourth-placed UWI Women’s FC (six points). Boys’ Town Wildcats, who went down 1-2 to St James Women’s, will be idle today.
Meanwhile, Barbican FC (12 points) have now assumed sole leadership of Zone A, following their 1-0 win over Waterhouse. The defending champions are poised to extend their lead as they are set to go up against sixth-placed Olympic Gardens (two points).
Waterhouse FC (nine points) remain in second position, and they will be hoping to rebound when they tackle fifth-placed Trelawny Women’s Academy (four points). The other Zone A game will see cellar dwellers Rangers FC (one point) hosting fourth-placed Portmore Strikers FC (six points), who will also be seeking to bounce back from their recent 0-3 loss to Arnett Gardens.
The ‘Junglists’ are now in third place on nine points and will be the zone’s resting team.
